Objectives At the completion of this subject students should have gained experience in using a large number of general reference sources and a thorough understanding of the basics of on-line/on-disk searching, along with the ability to apply that understanding to a reference problem.
Synopsis The study of reference materials in printed, microform or electronic forms and access to reference sources, including on-line databases.
Assessment On-line/on-disk projects: 50% - Essays: 30% - Seminar presentation and participation: 20%
