Objectives At the completion of this subject students should have acquired an understanding of the context within which changes to library services in Australia are currently taking place.

Synopsis A study of selected library and information services, illustrated by examples from Europe, North America and Australia, emphasising the responses at different times and in different places to various central concerns in the provision of such service.
