Objectives The aim of this subject is to prepare students for professional practice in information management and systems and also to prepare students for postgraduate research in the area. This subject includes both coursework and a minor thesis or project. Each student's course of study in IMS4000 will be approved by the head of school.

Synopsis On completion of IMS4000, students will be able to undertake postgraduate research work in an area of information management and systems; prepare and evaluate a research plan; understand the use of a variety of research methods appropriate to information management and systems research; contribute at an advanced level to the practice of information management and systems; appreciate recent developments in information management and systems theory and practice; advance their eligibility for professional recognition in information management and systems specialisations. This subject includes both coursework and a minor thesis or project
