Objectives On completion of this subject students will be able to understand the challenges of IT and IT management for organisations. Students will be able to assist user managers in harnessing the power of technological innovations and electronic in making informed decisions and effectively manage their organisations, thereby enabling them to compete effectively. In the process, students would be made aware of the impact of change management on IT professionals as the organisation copes with the managing of its resources.

Synopsis Information technology management issues and challenges, electronic commerce, network management and the organisation, managing IT in the organisation, managing the IT organisation, managing information services, managing information and human resources. Internet access to the university's computer systems through an Internet service provider is compulsory for distance education students.

Assessment Assignments: 50% - Examination (open book, 3 hours): 50%
