Objectives Understanding of state of the art techniques in rendering and animation. Knowledge of tools of computer graphics. Understanding of morphing and tweening. Knowledge of visualisation and virtual reality.
Synopsis Computer-aided drafting: use of a package for 2D and 3D drafting. Customisation: facilities for customising a drafting package to productivity in various applications. Concepts of solid modelling: primitive solids. Motion, interpolation and animation concepts. Mass and moment of inertia extraction. Rendering: surface description, light and view point definition, ray tracing. Animation: technical manual and training techniques, parts assembly sequencing using animation, movie animation project.
Assessment Examination (2 hours): 35% · Practical work and laboratory work: 65%
