4 points · 26 lectures and 26 support/practice classes · First semester · Caulfield

Objectives At the completion of this subject, students will understand the key concepts of single and multivariable calculus; have developed skills in solving simple differential equations; have developed skills in the evaluation of both vector calculus operators and multiple integrals; and appreciate some applications of the theory in a physical context.

Synopsis Topics covered are differentiation, integration and their applications; simple first order ordinary and partial differential equations; coordinate geometry and coordinate transformations; the definition and applications of gradient, divergence, and curl operators, and the evaluation of line and multiple integrals in two-and-three dimensions.
