Objectives Students should understand managerial finance issues including capital budgeting, cost of capital, working capital management and taxation. Operational control issues will be discussed in the context of modern management approaches and performance measurement systems.

Synopsis The subject extends students' understanding of accounting control of business. Topics include capital budgeting including investments in advanced manufacturing technology, non-financial indicators and productivity measurement systems, product lifecycle management, target costing and the theory of constraints.

Assessment Examination (3 hours): 60% · Assignments: 40%
