Objectives The subject will train students to solve problems in a mechatronics context (as a multidisciplinary field of engineering). Students will learn how to implement mechatronics principles. Also, students will be trained in teamwork and oral and written communications skills.
Synopsis This introductory project is aimed at introducing mechatronics through practical learning. Students undertake an investigation into a mechatronically oriented industrial problem either at the university or in industry. The students are expected to use various tools in their study (eg laboratory work, field studies and literature survey) as the case may dictate. Teamwork is highly encouraged through this exercise, but individual work is acceptable.
