Objectives To develop the basic knowledge and gain an understanding of the operation of diodes, BJT transistors and operational amplifiers and their application, analysis and design in practical circuits.

Synopsis Introduction to semiconductor devices and their characteristics, applications of diodes such as clipping, clamping, rectifiers, filters and regulators. BJT transistor modeling and amplifier analysis and design, frequency response of amplifiers, operational amplifiers and their applications.

Assessment Examination (3 hours): 70% · Assignments: 20% · Laboratory: 10%
