J Ang

6 points · 78 hours project work · Full-year subject · Gippsland/distance · Prerequisites: Completion of at least 3 course subjects

Objectives The student is expected to become proficient in the ability to extend his/her knowledge and skills into new areas.

Synopsis The research project provides students with an opportunity to assume personal responsibility for the solution of a terotechnology problem. It therefore enables students to gain confidence in their ability to apply the techniques, skills and knowledge acquired in the structured coursework subjects, while still having academic staff available to provide guidance and constructive criticism. The research project can also provide an opportunity for students to tackle problems which lie outside their range of expertise and both increases students' areas of expertise and gives them confidence to broaden their expertise.

Assessment The student will be required to prepare a typed research paper and present it at a seminar in the residential school.
