Objectives The student is expected to develop the ability to integrate the knowledge gained in the course subjects into a realistic industrial project; further skills in information and data gathering and utilisation; the ability to define project objectives and parameters; to plan, organise and manage an industrial project; to evaluate project outcomes against the objectives.
Synopsis The emphasis of the subject is to expose the students to the requirements and skills necessary in carrying out realistic industrial projects preferably within their own work situation. The type of project selected will not be restricted to any particular area. Examples of areas in which it could be undertaken include design, supervision and management, project planning and implementation, operations, computer based, etc.
Assessment Seminar: 20% · Written report: 80%
