Objectives The student is expected to acquire basic
knowledge in operation of power electronics converters and inverters and good
understanding of applications of devices in industry.
Synopsis Principles of power electronics converters, principles of
voltage control techniques such as phase control and integral cycle control,
characteristics, ratings, protection of power semiconductor devices and their
practical applications and limitations. Single phase and polyphase converter
systems. Static inverters.
Assessment Examination: 70% · Assignments: 10% · Laboratory: 20% (with 40% minimum in examination)
