Physics for engineers

Objectives The students are expected to gain an understanding of the fundamental concept and principles of physics relevant to engineering applications.

Synopsis This subject involves a study of the following topics: electromagnetism - electric fields and potential, capacitance, resistance, magnetic fields; waves - origin and properties of mechanical, sound and light waves; conduction - conduction mechanisms in gases, liquids and solids; and the thermal and thermoelectric properties of solid materials

Assessment Examination: 80% · Laboratory: 20%
