Objectives To provide the student with a knowledge of integrated circuit fabrication techniques and of integrated circuit design methodologies using CAD tools.

Synopsis Principles of integrated circuit fabrication. Standard bipolar technology. LSI technology. Bipolar IC design. Elementary theory of MOST. MOS and CMOS devices. LSI design. Hardware descriptive languages (VHDL). Electronic design automation (EDA). Testing.

Assessment Practical work and examination: 100%
