Objectives The student is expected to acquire a basic understanding of the characteristics, protocols and applications of narrowband and broadband ISDN networks.

Synopsis Overview of ISDN (Integrated Services Digital Network). ISDN services. ISDN architecture. ISDN protocols - LAP-D. Applications of primary and basic rate ISDN and broadband ISDN, terminal equipment for use with ISDN, case studies. All students will use ISDN protocol analysers and ISDN multiplex equipment.
