Objectives The student is expected to develop the ability to undertake a literature survey and document an investigation which demonstrates an in-depth knowledge and understanding of a particular aspect of electrical, electronic and computer engineering.
Synopsis BCSE students must undertake projects which amount to one-third of their work at level four. Projects may be undertaken wholly within either the Department of Computer Science or the Department of Electrical and Computer Systems Engineering or can be jointly supervised between the two departments. For pass candidates, projects will normally involve some survey and some development work and will lead to the submission of a final-year thesis. For honours students, projects must be research intensive and include a creative component; the reporting document for this work is the final-year honours thesis.
