Objectives The student is expected to develop an understanding and knowledge of the advanced analysis of modern electric power systems and the skill to investigate the behaviour of such systems, an understanding of the role of reliability in power systems and a knowledge of the application of optimisation to the operation of power systems.
Synopsis Economic dispatch and unit commitment, optimisation in power systems, automatic generation control, application of state estimation in electric power systems, reliability issues in power systems, dynamic and transient stability analysis and stability enhancement of multi-machine power systems.
