Chemical engineering research project

Objectives The student is expected to develop an appreciation for, and some ability to handle, a research project in most or all of its stages: conceptualisation; literature survey; experimental design; equipment design, construction and commissioning; experimentation; analysis and interpretation of results; oral and written progress reports; writing and oral defense of a thesis.

Synopsis Research conducted under the guidance of an academic staff member. Candidates for this subject will be selected, on merit, from students having gained a credit average or better at level three. The student should be enrolled predominantly in level-four chemical engineering subjects. All admissions to this subject must be individually approved by the head of department.
