Monash University is Australia's largest university, with a student
population of 42,000 and 5200 staff, with international students making about
15 per cent of the total student enrolment.
Established in 1961, Monash has built an international reputation for
excellence in teaching and research.
Monash has seven campuses at Berwick, Caulfield, Clayton, Gippsland, Parkville,
Peninsula and the Monash University Sunway campus Malaysia.
The university has ten faculties (Art and Design, Arts, Business and Economics,
Information Technology, Education, Engineering, Law, Medicine, Pharmacy and
Science). This mixture enables Monash to provide a comprehensive range of
courses in a diversity of disciplines which provide professional qualifications
in a great number of areas.
Monash University also uses a variety of teaching styles including academics
teaching in conventional classrooms, electronic hook-up across campuses
(teleteaching), open learning and distance education.
