Basic QSAR

On completion of this subject, students will comprehend the basic theory and methods of quantitative structure-activity relationships (QSAR). They should be able to describe and define the main electronic, steric and hydrophobic parameters used to quantify physical properties, outline how a multiple linear regression is carried out on a set of data to produce a Hansch equation, comprehend the statistics used to describe the validity of the equation and apply QSAR concepts to data in the areas of physicochemical structure property relationships.
