In this subject the primary focus is on basic communication skills required for use in an Indonesian or Australian setting. Students are given a broad introduction to the culture and geography of Indonesia as well as introduced to strategies and skills required in learning a language. Work sheets deal with the introduction and application of basic communication tasks with an emphasis on numeracy skills and immediate needs. Students are required to attend a two day weekend school ( total 10 hours ) where listening and speaking skills will be given emphasis. Students who can not attend may negotiate the use of their own tutor for the same amount of hours near their place of residence after consultation with the subject adviser.
