Basic statistics and computing for social sciences

Use of published data -- especially Australian Bureau of Statistics, eg labour force, demographic profiles, etc. Introduction to statistical analysis (chi-square, t-test and correlation, ie covering both parametric and non-parametric statistics). In conjunction with this subject students will use computers for statistical analysis.
