This subject builds upon the basic concepts and theories developed in BEG9670 Change management and electronic commerce. This subject will firstly review the meaning of change and the theories that underpin the practice of change management. The emphasis throughout this course will be on the role of the 'learning organisation' and the ways organisations can both promote and develop change through the learning process. This subject will examine the role of intervention in change, the learning organisation and the adoption of change in the virtual organisation practicing electronic commerce; the diagnosis of change, planning change and electronic commerce policy development and implementation strategies; the role of interventions and intervention strategies in current change practices, reengineering, TQM, best practice, quality assurance etc; and change practice and interventions in relation to the politics of organisations, the role of ethics in business practice and the perceived need for change in organisations.
