Objectives On completion of this subject, students should be able to describe and analyse the activities of the different types of organisations in the agribusiness sector and have a detailed understanding of the linkages between these organisations; understand the application of operations management to agribusiness; understand the application of contracts, futures and options as risk management instruments for agribusiness firms.

Synopsis Description, analysis and evaluation of the characteristics and performance of agribusiness subsectors and institutions. Marketing alternatives and futures markets. Analyse alternative investment opportunities within agribusiness and production agriculture and explore finance alternatives.

Assessment Assignment and oral presentation (5000 words): 50% · Examination (3 hours): 50%
