Objectives The primary objective of this subject is to extend the knowledge gained in previous tourism subjects and demonstrate how it can be applied to the management of tourist destination regions and the coordination of tourism provisions therein. It aims to cultivate appropriate attitudes with respect to the sustainability - economic, social and environmental - of a region's tourism resources and activities.
Synopsis Destination area organisations, destination area development, management for sustainability, the socio-cultural environment; economic sustainability, marketing planning and research, target marketing, tourism and the community.
Assessment Two essays (3000 words each): 50% · Examination (3 hours): 50%
