Issues in labour relations

Objectives On completion of this subject students should understand a range of contemporary, key issues in labour relations.

Synopsis This subject will include such issues as the changing shape of unionism in Australia and overseas and the lessons of the US case, strategic choice in industrial relations, employee participation, award restructuring and wages policy, occupational health and safety, fair and unfair dismissals, equal employment opportunity, legal remedies available to management, and political influences on industrial relations.

Assessment Written (assignments 4000 words): 40% · Take-home examination: 60%
