Objectives To revise basic mathematical concepts and skills, so that students are able to understand and perform a wide variety of mathematical and statistical processes and develop a competence in the use of descriptive skills necessary when dealing with statistical data. This will enable students to be more effective in business planning, forecasting and management.

Synopsis A course in statistics designed for postgraduate students in the field of marketing. The topics covered include descriptive statistics, empirical and other probability distributions, probability models, normal distribution, sampling distributions, goodness-of-fit tests, simple and multiple regression, distribution free tests, introduction to analysis of variance, introduction to forecasting.

Assessment Tutorial exercises: 40% · Examination (3 hours): 60%
