Objectives On completion of this subject students should be able to identify legal problems that may confront accountants, auditors and those in business in the course of their normal duties; recognise that legal issues may arise in the fields of contract, negligence, insurance and bankruptcy; instruct a relevant legal adviser on such issues.
Synopsis Topics include contract law; legal liability of auditors and accountants for negligent advice; partnership law, insurance law and bankruptcy law.

Assessment Two major assignments (each 2000 words): 50% · Examination (3 hours, open-book): 50%
