Objectives On completion of this subject students will be required to demonstrate an understanding of the international financial system; structure of international financial markets; how foreign exchange and futures markets operate; hedging and speculating in these markets; characteristics of international banking; and have familiarity with contemporary issues in international banking and finance.

Synopsis The international monetary system, debt and country risk, the foreign exchange market, international financing strategies and techniques, the Euromarkets, and multinational banking.

Assessment Assignments: 40% (minor: 10%; major: 30%) · Examination (3 hours): 60%
