Objectives On completion of this subject students should be able to understand how to prepare accounting records including profit and loss statements and balance sheets under the accrual concept of accounting for different types of business organisations; the nature, purpose and limitations of accounting reports and the use of accounting information in decision making.
Synopsis A mixture of 'lecture' presentations (with opportunity for discussion) and problem-solving exercise activities. Discussion questions and exercises will be taken from the class exercises that appear at the end of each topic. Students should prepare answers to these prior to the class.
Assessment Objective test: 30% · Examination (3 hours): 70%
