Objectives Upon successful completion of this subject students will be expected to understand human resources management theory and its application to social services, and the building of human resource management programs suitable for the social services.
Synopsis The subject will cover the nature of the social and community services workforce, industrial relations in this workforce, the different types of social services organisations, theories of human resources management, administrative control of staff, professional development of staff, recruitment and selection of staff, supervising staff through organisational transitions.
Assessment One essay (2000 words): 25% -One essay (7000 words): 75%
