Objectives This unit prepares students to plan for the implementation of a planning or evaluation project via learning (i) relevant social theories and organisational theories and models of planning and evaluations; and (ii) integrating this knowledge into the preparation of a plan for a human service organisation.
Synopsis Students learn theories and models of policy and program planning and evaluation of human service programs, set within a study of their organisational context and political implications. Students study the key steps in, and methodologies appropriate to, planning and evaluation. Students participate in a planning or evaluation project for a community agency and negotiate the plan with that agency.
Assessment A major planning paper for a community agency: (6000 words): 67% -A major class presentation (1-hour duration, 3000 words): 33%
