Objectives On completion of the subject students should have gained a good command of the language; an understanding of different discourse styles; an ability to participate appropriately in formal and informal debates with native speakers; and translation and interpreting skills into and from Spanish.

Synopsis Advanced study of the language including varieties of modern Spanish and advanced translation. The language of instruction is Spanish.

Assessment Examinations (3 hours): 40% - Essay writing and translations: 60%
