6 points - 4 hours per week - First semester - Clayton - Prerequisites: A pass in VCE (HSC Group 1) Spanish, or equivalent. Students' language proficiency will be assessed prior to commencement of classes. Make an appointment with the coordinator of the subject during orientation week.

Objectives This subject aims to provide an introduction to the society and culture of Spanish-speaking nations and to develop accuracy in the four macro skills (understanding, speaking, reading and writing).

Synopsis Intermediate spoken and written Spanish, and an introduction to modern Spain and Hispanic America. The language of instruction is Spanish.

Assessment Examinations (3 hours): 40% - Language exercises: 60%
