Objectives On successful conclusion of the subject, students should hve had practice in recognising keyboard styles by ear and eye and should be able to locate them on a chronology of broader artistic styles.
Synopsis The subject surveys the history of keyboard instruments from the earliest hydraulic organ to the latest electronic reconstruction. In terms of repertoire, the ´peak' pieces will be examined against the background of styles and forms of lesser known works. Certain works are studied in great detail.
Assessment Written (4000 words): 45% - Examination (3 hours): 40% - Assignments: 15%
