Practical musical skills

Objectives At the conclusion of the subject, students should (i) have acquired advanced aural and instrument specific/keyboard skills; (ii) have furthered their critical understanding of the performance process; and (iii) basic understanding of teaching process.

Synopsis The subject continues to develop students' aural skills, including three and four-part dictation, more advanced instrument-specific skills and performance skills in a mainly ensemble masterclass situation, with emphasis on variety of styles as well as an introduction to instrumental padagogy (primary teaching AMEB system).
