Cretan renaissance literature

Objectives Students are expected to read all of the prescribed texts in the original Greek and to demonstrate knowledge and understanding of their historical and cultural background, and of the major literary and artistic developments in Europe which influenced Cretan renaissance literature.

Synopsis A study of texts representative of the literature of the Cretan renaissance.

Assessment Seminar paper (1000 words): 15% Essay (2500 words): 45% Examination (2.5 hours): 40%
