Objectives To develop students' ability to use a range of exploratory techniques for data analysis and to compare and contrast these methods with their counterparts in classical inferential statistics.

Synopsis This subject focuses on the more recently developed exploratory data analysis methods such as batch comparisons, data transformation, median polish and so forth, and their relation to traditional confirmatory statistical methods.

Assessment Three assignments: 30% Examination (1.5 hours): 70%
