Objectives Students should develop an understanding of some of the major theoretical approaches and topics associated with cultural interaction and apply them to an understanding of contemporary Australia-Japan relations.

Synopsis This subject presents a theoretical approach for examining intercultural interaction from a variety of disciplinary perspectives. It deals with a variety of situations of contact between Japanese and Australians in tourism, education and other work areas.
