Reading Japanese texts B

4 points - 1.5 hours per week - Second semester - Clayton - Prerequisites: Current enrolment in or completion of level C Japanese (Students currently enrolled in level D should take JPL3852)

Objectives As for JPL3750.

Synopsis This course aims to provide students with the opportunity to practice and to develop their skills in reading Japanese, and will particularly emphasise the use of kanji that they have already learnt as well as the ability to read a wide range of new kanji. A wide range of texts, including newspaper articles, essays, fiction, non-fiction and comics, may be utilised. Particular emphasis will be placed on the capacity for independent reading. Texts B will further develop reading skills acquired from the first semester course.

Assessment Mid-semester examination (1.5 hours): 30% - End-of-semester examination (1.5 hours): 40% - Weekly exercises: 30%
