Japanese 3C : part 1 (Kanazawa)

8 points - 5 weeks, three hours a day and excursions - Summer semester - Ishikawa Foundation for International Exchange, Kanazawa, Japan - Prerequisite: At least credit or above in level B Japanese or equivalent, selection by the department

Objectives Students successfully completing this subject should have a systematic understanding of Japanese grammar at the intermediate level and should have developed skills (including the use of basic honorifics) to establish relationships with Japanese people, interview them and write a short report, write a resume and undertake a job interview. Students should also be able to recognise 250 kanji newly introduced in this subject (in total 750). There is additional objective to JPL 1370 of developing the skill of writing a formal letter.

Assessment Assignments: 30% - Vocabulary test: 15% - Speaking test: 15% - Final examination (2 hours): 40%
