Objectives Students completing this subject should have developed Japanese language skills and cross-cultural knowledge for use in the tourism industry in Australia.
Synopsis The structure of this subject is the same as for JLG4805. The content of the component to provide information on Australia to a Japanese tourist will focus upon geography, natural life and the history of Australia. Wide reading and watching videotapes in Japanese are also included for the purpose of information gathering and delivery in Japanese. The second component of the subject is a continuation of JLG4805 covering different situations in which professional discourse is practised.
Assessment Class presentations: 20% -Class performance in professional discourse: 10% -Assignment: 10% -End-of-semester test (one hour): 60%
