Objectives Students successfully completing this subject should have developed the ability to summarise in Japanese, information on current issues obtained through various materials, and to express their opinions in spoken and/or written Japanese based on the information gathered. They should have acquired basic knowledge and a practical skill in an area of their choice such as Japanese wordprocessing, interpreting and translation. Students should also be able to recognise a further 200 jooyoo kanji which are essential in understanding newspaper articles (in total 1500).
Synopsis This is a continuation of JLG4410 and aims to further consolidate advanced communication skills in written and spoken Japanese. The subject is designed to build the students' ability to state their opinions on current topics.
