Objectives As for HYM5960, with the additional objectives of developing a broader comprehension of the development of gender as a key analytical concept in various fields of history and of the recent theoretical and conceptual debates concerning the nature of 'gendered histories'.
Synopsis As for HYM4960. In their written work, students doing the subject at fifth-year level are expected to demonstrate a wider range of reading and a more sophisticated understanding of the different theoretical approaches to the study of gender and gender identity.
