Objectives As for HSY2860 with the additional objective of developing a more comprehensive understanding of the role of Renaissance culture and philosophy in European history.

Assessment Prepared site visit (1000 words), post-site visit critique (500 words), one critique of another student's site visit presentation (500 words), substantial research essay (3000 words): 75% - Examination (1.0 hour): 25% - Note: first three elements to be submitted in Florence; all other elements to be completed by the end of week eight of first semester of the folowing year - Third-year students will be expected to demonstrate more sophisticated analytical skills and submit work incorporating a higher level of competence in independent reading and research.
