Objectives As for HSY2380 with the additional objective that students gain a greater understanding of methodological and conceptual issues in comparative history and of key debates in the history of childhood and family.

Synopsis As for HSY2380.

Assessment Seminar discussion (10 minutes): 10% - Literature review (1500 words): 25% - Research essay (3000 words): 35% - Examination (1.5 hours): 30% - Third-year students will be expected to demonstrate a broader grasp of the historical scholarship on childhood and family and submit work incorporating a higher level of competence in independent reading and research.
