Electronics for industrial design

3 points - 6 hours per week, including 1-hour lecture and 1-hour tutorial and 4 independent study hours per week - Second semester - Caulfield - Prerequisites: None

Objectives On successful completion of this subject, students should be capable of understanding the application of electrical systems in contemporary products; utilising a basic working knowledge of electricity; handling electrical principles in product design projects.

Synopsis This subject covers voltage levels and frequency ranges of electricity used in a variety of consumer products, nature and sources of electricity, circuit analysis, electrical and magnetic fields, passive and active devices, safety and regulations.

Assessment Design project 50% - Exam 50%
