Digital imaging 4

3 points - 2 studio hours and 4 independent study hours per week - Second semester - Caulfield - Prerequisites: DIS2103 - Elective

Objectives On successful completion of this subject, students should be able to skilfully and perceptively create, edit, manipulate, compose and output digital images; explore the range of options and control available through a variety of software applications with increasing confidence and expertise; elect to undertake further units in digital imaging and other computer units that may be offered.

Synopsis This unit builds on the skills and knowledge acquired in previous units. Through a series of demonstrations, tutorials and projects using photo editing, painting and drawing software applications, this unit provides an opportunity for interested students to develop advanced skills and understanding in the creation and application, of digital images. Students explore specific interests beyond the tutorial work and may choose to develop ideas and imagery relating to projects undertaken in other studio areas. The course is delivered through demonstration/ workshop sessions in groups of fifteen students.
