Objectives On successful completion of this subject, students should have an extended understanding of advanced techniques specific to hollow (blown) glass forms; show considerable manipulative skill in the handling of blown glass forms; be able to use colour and other decorative processes appropriate to blown glass forms; confidently and creatively respond to design briefs; communicate ideas visually and orally through group discussion.
Synopsis Students are introduced to a range of skills which allow for greater self-expression in the realisation of ideas. The emphasis is firmly on the acquisition of skills within the context of the theoretical framework laid down in APA2303. Studio sessions encourage group discussion of ideas as well as realisation of ideas through two-dimensional design and production of glass objects.
