Introduction to glass 2

6 points - 4 studio hours and 8 independent study hours per week - Second semester - Caulfield - Prerequisites: APA1408 - Elective

Objectives On successful completion of this subject, students should be confidently using a range of glass forming processes to interpret their designs; be able to use a range of kiln types and firing methods as appropriate for required outcomes; have a broad understanding of historical and contemporary issues in studio glass; have an emerging ability to critically assess their own work, technically and aesthetically; have made creative links between glass studies and their major study; clearly understand health and safety procedures in the glass studio.

Synopsis This subject continues to build on the structures developed in first semester for students majoring in another area. Technical and conceptual skills developed in this medium will provide a useful and creative cross-fertilisation with the student's major area of study. Teaching is by a combination of individual and group tuition.

Assessment Folio: 80% - Assigned projects: 20%
